Moot Court Room Jamaica, New York
Project Overview: Design and installation of a state-of-the-art multi-media AV System for an Appellate Court, with supporting technologies for presentation and recording used in instructional settings. The installation was part of a larger project with Hoffman Grayson Architects to renovate three existing rooms the Moot Court Room and two adjacent classrooms.
Project Details:
- State-of-the-art AV systems for instructing, presenting of evidence, and recording;
- Ability to playback and monitor court room proceedings from adjacent spaces;
- Projection screens behind judge's Bench for viewing from the Gallery and above Baliff's Box for viewing from the Bench and Jury Box;
- Multi-media control room under the tiered Gallery;
- Acoustics work with and are enhanced by the circular geometry of the ceiling;
- Borrowed Lights placed in the rear of the Gallery to overlook the Lobby;
- Electric shades automatically activated to block out window light when projection systems are in use;
- Single remote control unit coordinates all the multi-media functions with various settings for programmable lighting scenes and custom screens.
